Safety tips for your dates in Oninder

Meeting new people is exciting, but you should always take care of your safety, whether you're messaging or meeting in person. While you can't control others, you can take precautions to protect yourself during your Oninder experience.

Online Security

Never send money or share financial information.

Don't transfer money, even in emergencies. A transfer is like cash: almost impossible to reverse or trace. Don't share bank details or passwords. If another user asks you for money, report it immediately.

Protect your personal information

Don't reveal sensitive information (Social Security number, address, daily routines). If you're a parent, limit the information about your children in your profile and initial chats.

Stay on the platform

Keep conversations within Oninder: Our filters help you detect malicious users who might want to switch to SMS, WhatsApp, or email.

Be wary of long-distance relationships

Beware of users who claim to be stuck far away and ask for financial help. If they avoid video calls or in-person meetings, they may not be who they claim to be.

Report suspicious behavior

Block and report anyone who violates our terms: soliciting money, underage users, harassment, fake profiles, spam, or phishing.

Protect your account

Use a strong password

Choose a strong password and avoid logging into public or shared computers. Oninder will never ask for your password via email; if they do, report it.

When meeting in person

Don't rush

Take your time before logging out of the app. A video call beforehand can help you spot any warning signs.

Meet in a public place

Choose crowded spaces. If you're pressured to go somewhere private, cancel the meeting.

Tell someone you trust

Tell a friend or family member where you're going and when; keep your phone charged and with you.

Control your transport

Plan your arrival and return journey. Have a transportation app or a trusted contact ready who can pick you up.

Know your limits

If your date tries to pressure you with drugs or alcohol, stand by your decision and, if necessary, end the date.

Don't neglect your belongings

Only accept drinks from the bar and keep an eye on your phone, purse, or wallet at all times.

Leave if you feel uncomfortable

It's okay to leave early if something isn't right. If you feel unsafe, ask the staff for help.

Travel and LGBTQ+ users

Find out about locations

Before traveling, check local laws regarding orientation and identity. If you're concerned about your safety, disable "Show me on Oninder" in your settings.

Consent and sexual health

Protect yourself

Correct condom use reduces the risk of STIs. Some infections require vaccination.

Know your status

Get tested regularly and maintain communication with your partner about sexual health.

Practice consent

All sexual activity must be explicitly agreed upon and can be withdrawn at any time. Never assume consent while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
